Daedeok Ecological Park
  • Address 770 Hyeoncheon-dong, Deogyang-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do

Introduction

The southernmost part of Daedeok Ecological Park is adjacent to the Hangang River. It is a highly valuable ecological park with an area of 810,000㎡ and a length of 3.8km from the confluence of Changneungcheon Stream to Gayangdaegyo Bridge, where numerous animals and plants reside. In particular, it is a park where visitors can experience the special allure of the Hangang River estuary, where the Hangang River and the West Sea meet twice daily, and the river flows in reverse. There is a difference between high and low tide, allowing visitors to encounter a variety of animals and plants. Additionally, the bridges and sections of Daedeok Ecological Park are named after the local fauna. At Carp Bridge, you can observe Hangang River fish that have risen to spawn, and at Crab Bridge, you can observe crabs eating pearls as they emerge from their holes. At the Scorpion Grass Bridge, wild flower yard, and water reed colony, various plants can be observed throughout the year. The area is ideal for photography, especially in the autumn when the reeds are in full bloom. You can take photos that you will cherish for life next to the reed colony, Scorpion Grass Bridge, and second stone bridge. There are many benches, so you can enjoy staring at the water while listening to its soothing rounds or riding along the well-paved bike path. There is also a large parking lot for easy access, which is a plus.
