Siksa-dong Goyang Vintage Street, one of the three major tourist streets, is a must-see for clothing enthusiasts. This street was spontaneously formed by secondhand clothing stores, and awareness was raised by a scene on a TV show in which model and actor Bae Jeong-nam went shopping. More than a hundred thrift stores line the street, selling everything from formalwear (including party dresses and wedding gowns) to casualwear (including jeans and T-shirts) and accessories. For first-time visitors to Vintage Street, it seems like a different world. This is due to the fact that there are stores that sell clothing by weight rather than by the piece, as most stores do. One business charges KRW 1,500 per 100g and KRW 13,000 per 10kg. The more clothes you purchase, the lower the price you can get them for. There are both conventionally sized shops and larger warehouse sized stores. The fairly sizable space is filled with bright, high-quality clothing on par with more expensive brands.
