Introduction
Aram Nuri Arts Center, which opened on May 4, 2007, means “a large and beautiful world,” representing Goyang City's dream for a new cultural and artistic renaissance. Aram Nuri has three specialized performance halls with excellent accessibility: the Aram Theater for opera, ballet, and musicals on a 13-acre site; the Aram Music Hall, which has the best conditions for orchestra performances; and the Sarasae Theater for experimental performances of various genres. In addition, the Norumok Outdoor Theater with a capacity of 1,000 seats, Aram Museum of Art, and Aram Library form a complex cultural space.
Following the Seoul Arts Center, this marks the birth of the second complex cultural space in Korea with theaters dedicated to each genre. In addition, an opera house and concert hall in the European style have been constructed in Goyang, which will not only become a cultural and artistic attraction but also a valuable cultural asset of Korea.
