Healing course at the Lake Park (4km)

This course is designed to take a walk around the Lake Park, a famous spot in Ilsan. The peaceful Ilsan Lake Park located in the city center is a charming and snug place, perhaps thanks to a lot of love it has garnered.

Take a walk alongside the lake and connect with the energy of the nature generated by over 100 species of wild flowers and 200,000 trees. If you choose to come during the Goyang International Flower Festival held in April and May every year, you will be able to walk among the delightful scents of enchanting flowers.

Ilsan Gyeoingui Railroad Trail (4.1km)

Starting from Baengma Station, this course is designed to take a walk along the railroad. This romantic trail gives off the 70s and 80s vibes, and vinyl records and LPs, an organ and a grand piano, and paintings hanging from the red brick wall will let you fully embrace the 80s theme. You may want to stop by the Ilsan Station Museum to appreciate the beauty of the old way station and learn the history of Ilsan Station which once served as the foothold for independence movement.

The course ends at “Ilsan Market”, a signature market of Goyang, which is known for its friendly and warm atmosphere unique to a traditional market. It is the best course to satisfy your hunger at Ilsan Market after the walk.

Ilsan Jeongbalsan Trail (4.3km)

This course is designed to walk through the gentle vibes along the trail of Jeongbalsan Mountain. As you head out from the Goyang Tourist Information Center and walk along the Jeongbalsan Mountain, you will come across a beautiful tree-line street. Among the collection of lovely houses that blend in with the tree-line street, there stands the private residence of the late Kim Dae-jung, the former president of Korea.

This course also leads all the way to Bamnidan Street, the rising hot place of Goyang, and therefore, it would be nice to stop by a cafe or restaurant of your choice and take a rest for a while.

Haengjusanseong Fortress Waterside Trail (4km)

In this course, you start from the entrance to Haengjusanseong Fortress and walk towards the Hangang River. The panoramic view of Hangang River and the gentle breeze make a great companion for your walk. The Hangang River along this trail gives off a unique charm different from Hangang River in Seoul. The expansive and fair view of the sky not obstructed by any tall buildings nearby makes you realize how vast the sky is.

Also, the wetland makes the nature more diverse with migratory birds and the field of reeds. The proud and overwhelming history of Haengjusanseong Fortress sheds further light on the value of this trail.

Songgan Gongneungcheon Trail (4.3km)

In this course, you start from the Monument for the Participation of the Philippines, walk along the nature-friendly Gongneungcheon Stream, and feel a sense of peace and well-being on a trail in the countryside. During the Korean War, the Philippines sent 7,430 grounded forces to Korea. That was the third largest ground forces dispatched after the United States and the United Kingdom.

The Monument for the Participation of the Philippines built to pay respect to their bravery and express our admiration and the Gongneungcheon Stream which symbolize the ardent love between Song Gang, a leading writer of the Joseon dynasty, and Gang A, his lover, add further charms to this trail.
